Coast Guard, here comes Brian....

Nick's cousin Brian enlisted in the Coast Guard & leaves in the next week. So Gary & Kerri had a going away / good luck party for him! I didn't bring my camera that night & used Kathryn's. I need to get a picture from Kerri's camera of Brian. The only one that was on Kathryn's camera did not turn out well!

Katie the Cat

Katie the Cat is this beautiful (NOT) stuffed animal that Grandma & Papa got for Addison while we were in Chicago. Actually what happened was Grandma and Addison went to Walmart. They went down the toy aisle and Addison spotted the cat. My Mom tried to put it back several times; but, was unsuccessful. So she ended up buying the stuffed animal for Addison, sucker!!! Well, since then Addison is so attached to Katie. Mom said that when she first got the cat, Addison would not put her down, even wanted to take her outside with her. Well, fast forward to today.....every night, Addison has to have Katie to go to sleep. So the other night, we could find Katie the Cat, as Addison often refers to her. We searched the house....Addison was not going to bed until we found that stupid cat! It was so cute, she was walking around the house saying Where Katie? Cat, Cat? Finally we found Katie, in a closet. Addison I guess had stuffed her in there at some point during the day!

Running around...

Addison & I had a fun time running around in the backyard playing chase today!
Addison finally slowed down a bit to have some shaved ice which is her favorite treat!!!

Busted Lip

Addison fell yesterday while at school and busted her lip. She was running down the hallway, fell, and busted it! Poor baby....

Chicken Pot Pie.....

Yummy, chicken pot pie (homemade)!! I have the best husband and he is such a great chef! I have been craving a homemade chicken pot pie and he made one for me!!! He is going to hate that I blogged this; but, I am just proud! Oh, and I wanted to post the pretty pie too!!!

And one of little miss.....

Inspired to clean the garage

We have been saying all summer long that we need to get the garage cleaned up. It was a messed! Well last Sunday, we got inspired & did it!! I wish that I had taken a true before picture; but, I didn't think about it until we were in the middle of cleaning so I grab a quick shot. I also grab a few shots of our little helper! Addison was out there for part of the clean-up efforts. We started shortly before lunch and her nap time. This gave her some good outside time to run out some of her energy before nap time. We then were able to finish up and get everything somewhat organized while she was sleeping. There is a good bit of stuff that is in the garage that will be taken to Junior League Thrift Sale sometime next week. So at least a good bit of the stuff on the back wall will be gone!! So, the garage is still not perfect; but, we can get a car into it!!! And really for the most part it's just fine....maybe one day we will really get around to organizing some of the shelves that need cleaning up!

Good Friends...

I am a little behind on blogging. These pictures are actually from May; but, I am just now getting around blogging them. We had a fun night with Brock, Rebecca, Michael, and Catharine! It's always nice to go out with good friends!!!

Sleepy girl....

Tree Hugger

Addison becomes a tree hugger! While we were in Chicago Addison stayed with Grandma & Papa. As well as some visitors too, GG, Uncle Pat, Anne-Marie, and Kathryn (actually Kathryn helped Mom and Dad though out the weekend)! Thanks to everyone with loving and taking care of her while we were gone! I know that she was in good hands!!!
The day these pictures were taken, Addison & Henry had a garden party. I hear that Addison ate all of Henry's grapes. While playing outside Addison decided that she would hug the tree.
Thanks for the pictures Daria!

Sulley

Addison loves Monsters Inc. While we were in Chicago, Nick and Michael were wasting time while Catherine and I were shopping. Nick and Michael went into the Disney store & they walked out with a child size "Sulley" and a little "Mike Wazowski". Addison was not too sure of Sulley at first; but, now she loves him. She runs up to him and gives him a big hug and wrestles him to the floor.

Chicago Bound

Nick and I left for Chicago Friday of Labor Day weekend for Donald and Andrea's wedding. Donald and Nick are childhood friends. As I have often spoken of my childhood friends, Nick too is blessed to have a group of childhood/high school friends that remain close. I love Nick's friends, they remind me so much of my own friends. Now the neat thing is that I can call them my friends too!!! I love each & everyone of them!!!

We are so happy for Donald & Andrea. Their wedding was a BLAST! We had so much fun the whole weekend. We left on Friday and returned Tuesday after Labor Day so we had a little time to site see as well. While I got some pictures of the wedding celebrations, I did not take any pictures of us out in the city, well one picture (but seriously that is it). I think I may need to get an updated point & shoot camera for times like that. It just was not particular for me to carry even the D80 out & about.

The rehearsal dinner was at a great Asian restaurant. Earlier in the day, Donald & Andrea celebrated with family in a Vietnamese ceremony. The BC guys that were there, sang the BC fight song for Donald & Andrea.

The wedding was on Sunday in a beautiful ceremony. We then went & celebrated their marriage at a wonderful reception! We danced the night away which is just what Donald & Andrea wanted. The one thing that Donald & Andrea wanted was a "dance party" and well they had just that! Dinner was absolutely wonderful. They had this wonderful broccoli soup!! I want some right now....
