Pretty in Pink

Okay, so call me crazy.....I paid someone to take pictures of my child. Okay, I know what you are saying.....but your a photographer! Yes; but, I do not have a studio with different back drops. I only have a black back drop which I can easily use with natural lighting. Other back drops require studio lighting which I currently do not have. Hopefully one day I will have a studio with all the lighting & backdrops; but, for now I do not. The other thing is it is amazing that I have a hard time setting aside the time to take formal pictures of my own child. So I thought, well this would solve two problems....I would take her somewhere (therefore, setting aside the time needed) & I would also get the studio setting that I wanted for her pictures. I took her to Carpe Diem Studio. Sally did a wonderful job....she does beautiful work!!!! Anyways, she gave me low resolution images of the prints that I ordered so here is a look at Addison's pictures! The pictures were taken in June....actually the end of June so she was almost 5 months when the pictures were taken. Yes, I have taken formal pictures of Addison before now, I just wanted something different. So here is a peak....

Splashing Around

This weekend we took Addison to the pool. We have taken her before; but, she really did not care for it. Well, on Sunday, she had so much fun. She really enjoyed it. I wanted to take her back a night or two this week; but, she is a little sick with a summer cold so we decide to wait. But here are a few pictures from Sunday afternoon.

So Addison loves sticking her tongue out now! While we were taking these family pictures, Addison continued to stick her tongue out. It was so cute....so Nick and I thought we would join her.......WELL, as you can see, look who looks like the fools......

Addison playing with one of her friends Marissa. Marissa is 6 weeks younger than Addison.

Addison discovers her tongue

Addison has discovered her tongue about a week or so ago.....it is so cute! She sticks her tongue out all the time....when she smiles, when she laughs, when she gets excited, just because! Here are a few pictures that I have gotten of her doing just that....and a few other pictures that I wanted to add as well...

Addison is already reading & she is only 5 1/2 months....

Addison still loves her exersaucer....it's amazing, we have already had to move it up to the next level because she has grown too tall for the first level!!

This picture was taken the night that Aunt Kathryn took care of Addison. Kathryn got Nick and I tickets to the Savannah Theater - "The Beat Goes On" so we would have a night out & she could watch Addison.....now is that sweet or what!! Thanks Aunt Kathryn for allow Nick and I to have "date night" and know that Addison was being taken care of too!!! Also keep up the great work...you know what I'm talking about!!!!

Addison turns 5 months.

It's hard to believe that Addison is 5 months old. I did her monthly pictures this month in red, white, & blue....okay so when you see my flag drawing.....yes I know that there are not the correct # of stars & stripes.

What is Addison doing new; well.....she starting eating stage 1 baby foods about 3 weeks ago. She is not so wild about rice cereal, loved oatmeal (but broke out in hives, so we had to discontinued it for about a month). Her doctor wants us to try it again in late August; but, just test feed a very small amount. I'm hoping she does okay with it in August. After the reaction with oatmeal, we moved on to yellow veggies. She loves carrots, squash, & sweet potatoes. I like to say that she loves the carrots because I ate so many when I was pregnant. We are finishing up green veggies now; green beans & peas. So she likes the green beans....she tolerates the peas. I wouldn't say that she dislikes them; there are others that she enjoys so much more. We move on to fruits tomorrow. We are going to try apples sauce tomorrow. Which I hope she will like so maybe we can start putting some in her rice cereal to make it more appealing! Addison is a wonderful eater. With each food, Nick and I have the video camera ready thinking we are going to get a reaction.....like spitting out the food.....nothing! She just opens her mouth for more....let's just hope that she keeps up the good eating habits (meaning - loving her veggies & not sweets like her Mommy).

Other new things.....Addison is starting to push up on her hands now. She has been pushing up on her forearms when on stomach....now she pushes up with hands. She also has been trying to get her legs up under her. Okay, I know you may think I'm crazy.....but really.....this child wants to crawl. I guess time will tell on that! I am currently working with her on sitting up. She loves her Bumbo chair & exersaucer! It is so much fun to watch Addison grow & learn something new each day! She really completes me & I think Nick would say the same too! Okay, on to pictures........here is Addison's 5 month pictures!
