Key West for our 30th!!!!

We do a vacation every year with my friends. One should consider themselves blessed if they have just one truly great friend in a lifetime; well, I'm not sure how I got so lucky having so truly great friends! All of you are truly amazing woman!! We decided to do a vacation without the kids this year (since all the girls & Michael were celebrating our 30th birthday over the past year) and at first I must admit that I was a little hesitant about it. Boy, am I glad that we went, it was so nice.....don't get me wrong, I missed Addison terribly; but, it was a nice get away from schedules and just be able to relax. It was nice being able to spend time with old friends and not having to chase the kids around in between conversations!!! We had a blast this year.....it was a perfect vacation. They only thing that could have made it even better was if Shelley & Chad and Rachel & Scott could have been there!!! We missed you!!!! Thank you Melissa and Jeff for opening up your vacation home to us for this year's vacation!! It is beautiful!!

Saturday

While waiting on the rest of the crew to arrive we went to Hurricane Hole to grab a few drinks and appetizers.

Sunday

We went out on nice size boat on Sunday. It was a great start to our vacation until the rain came. We got out there and it started raining........it did not stop either. Well once we got back on land it did; but, not while we were out on the water. We still made the best of it. We still snorkeled and went swimming while out there.

Monday

Nick went fishing on Monday. On his boat was Michael and Margie. They did great on catching fish.

Hanging out poolside......having fun with friends!!

Having maybe too much fun. The whip cream came out and a whip cream fight started. It was like we were children again!!!!

Preparing for The Today Show that was going to be filming in Key West on Tuesday. More details below....

Nick still working a little even in Key West. The guys cooking up the fish that they caught and chicken.

Poor Michael getting thrown into the pool by the girls!!!! Michael is so used to us crazy girls that he didn't even fight it too much (well maybe a little).

Tuesday
The Today Show was filming in Key West on Tuesday so some of us decided to get up super early (well super early while you are on vacation) - 5am to see Al Roker and Matt Lauer. I am glad we did it...I think that some of us could be seen on the show for a second, all of our signs did get shown on air. We did a 30th sign and then all did signs to our kids.

Melissa, Brandi, and I along with our husbands were the only ones that got up to go to the show. The rest of the crew decided to sleep in......can't blame them since it was vacation!!!
Dinner at Hurricane Hole in Key West. Great little restaurant where you can dock beside and grab something to eat. Most of the seating is outside which is of course where we decided to dine!!! We were in Key West...nothing better!!!
Wednesday

While in Key West, it was lobster mini season on Wednesday and Thursday. Some went on Wednesday and other went on Thursday. Nick went Wednesday. On both days, they got their limit of 6 per person. The boat that Nick was on, got their limit within 30 minutes of being out there!!

We cooked up some of their catch. This was not even half of them. We were all able to spilt them up & take home to enjoy!

After dinner and hanging out by the pool, we all decided to go to Irish Kevin's. We had a blast while there! We just enjoyed being together!!!

Thursday

We hung out around the house and enjoyed the company.

That night for dinner we went at a Japanese restaurant which I cannot remember the name....but it was yummy and we had a great time!!!

Friday
Nick, Michael, Margie and I traveled to Bahia Honda State Park. It was pretty; but, I must say that I was a little disappointed; but, we still had a great time together. Once we got back from the beach that afternoon, we rented scooters with the rest of the group to ride around Key West. It was alot of fun.....Nick made fun of me because I would not go over 30. He was a sweet husband and stayed behind with me. I can't believe that none of us got any pictures with us on the scooters. Oh, well, it will just have to be a memory!!!

Friday night we went Mallory Square to see all the street performers and then we went to dinner. It was a great last night out together before we all headed home on Saturday.

For some reason I am always that one that ends up adding up all the receipts at the end of the trip to see who owes what.....fun, fun!!!
